Now a successful consultant, project manager and concept designer, specialising in lightweight applications, in particular for clients taking first steps in composites and additive manufacturing.

Starting out as an Undergraduate Apprentice at British Aerospace and subsequently graduating in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College, London, in 1988.

Ian spent 10 years in motorsport after graduating with such notable companies as Leyton House F1, TOM’S Toyota, Ferrari and Tyrrell working in aerodynamics and design and also as a “data engineer” (before this term was ever coined). Diversification of his career followed, working with advanced composites in a number of industries, such as Wind Energy, Marine, Aerospace as well as Automotive. He has most recently had spells as a contractor at Gordon Murray Design and McLaren Automotive.
