Assembly Systems

Sorion’s Guided Assembly Solutions have been designed to maximise quality and prevent mistakes in manual parts picking and assembly tasks.

The solution is field proven and is already enabling manufacturers from a variety of industries to actively improve their quality processes whilst also reducing their operating costs.

At the heart of the system is Sorion’ Sextans process control and test application. Running on a touchscreen PC, Sextans controls the kitting and assembly process, data acquisition and result management.

Typical deployments for the Guided Assembly Solutions include the automotive industry, manufacturing and technology sectors.

Functions include:

– Full operator guidance against build specifications
– Barcode scanning for parts verification and traceability
– RFID Tag readers for assembly identification
– Pick-to-Light system for error-proof kitting
– Image capture
– Label printer
– DC Tooling can be integrated to control the tool and record fastening data for traceability
– Assembly jigs and fixtures providing Poka Yoke functions
– Stations can be interlocked with conveyor systems to provide process control and improved operator guidance
– Full integration with customer build control systems to receive build specifications
– Andon functions are available to give process status information
– All results saved in Sorion’s Orion™ traceability database system
