CCP Gransden Advanced Composites recently welcomed Project OPTIMA (Optimisation of Thermoplastic Composites Manufacturing with Intelligent Automation) partners, the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC ) and Sigmatex , alongside a representative from Innovate UK, to our facility.
As the aerospace industry works towards Net Zero and more sustainable manufacturing, OPTIMA brings together industry and research expertise to advance thermoplastic composite manufacturing technologies that enable higher-rate and more cost-effective production.
Funded through the ATI SME Programme, in partnership with the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI), Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade and Innovate UK, the project aims to accelerate the development of next-generation composite manufacturing solutions.
Further information will be shared through the official project announcement in due course.
