Leybold SCREWLINE SP dry screw pump
Leybold SCREWLINE SP dry compressing screw vacuum pumps are extremely robust with the internally cooled rotors, and a special cantilevered bearing arrangement that eliminates failure. These industrial dry vacuum pumps are designed to meet the special requirements of heavy duty applications with direct pumping path and two non-contacting shaft-seals that are practically wear-free. This also allows for longer maintenance intervals. Based on the screw principle, the standard versions of the SCREWLINE pumps are air-cooled from the outside for industrial applications. Water-cooled versions are available to operate in air-conditioned rooms as well as ATEX-certified variants are available for explosion proof compliance. SCREWLINE SP has a direct pumping path without multiple deflections for the process gas making it highly tolerant to process contamination as well as reduced buildup inside the pump chamber. This ensures lower maintenance and a high uptime in industrial processes. The two non-contacting shaft-seals are practically wear-free, which allows for very long maintenance intervals. Shaft seal purge is usually required in industrial applications. SCREWLINE SP pumps are equipped with a purge gas supply unit as a standard. The special cantilevered bearing arrangement eliminates a potential source of bearing failure as well as lubrication contamination into pumping chamber. The cantilevered bearing arrangement also makes the pump chamber easily accessible. This innovative design feature allows the removal of the pump housing quickly and cost effectively making on-site cleaning of all surfaces in contact with the medium possible. This is a significant advantage for processes that involve a considerable amount of contaminants to deliver high uptime.

Leybold SCROLLVAC 3/3S plus scroll pumps
Clean, capable, convenient and above all compact Leybold is proud to announce the latest addition to its range of advanced scroll pumps: the SCROLLVAC 3/3S plus. The new younger brother of the SCROLLVAC family combines high pumping speed with good ultimate vacuum in a compact, flexible, quiet, and reliable package. As such, it fills the gap in the market for smaller and more compact pumps, making it one of the best choices for small-scale R&D and other laboratory applications. Dry oil-free solution The SCROLLVAC 3S plus offers all the benefits of advanced scroll pump technology in a clean, dry, and compact package. Because there is no oil to worry about, the SCROLLVAC 3S plus promises less hassle, less risk, less maintenance, less total cost of ownership, and less environmental impact compared with oil-sealed rotary vane pumps. Small on footprint, big on performance Despite weighing in at just 8 kg, Leybold’s newest SCROLLVAC pump is capable of achieving peak pumping speeds of up to 3 m3/h at 50 Hz (or 3.5 m3/h at 60 Hz) and a typical ultimate vacuum of 0.1 mbar. As such, the SCROLLVAC 3S plus is a very capable alternative to diaphragm pumps. Flexible system design The very small footprint and light weight of the SCROLLVAC 3S plus make it easy to integrate in any system. It is supplied as standard with DN 16 ISO-KF inlet and push-fit exhaust connections along with a mains-driven motor, IEC connection, and on-off switch for easy operation. It can also be mounted either horizontally or vertically, if required, with brackets and base plates available as optional accessories, making it easy to attach the pump to any structure.

Leybold SCROLLVAC plus
The new SCROLLVAC plus vacuum pump is the latest addition to our range of dry pumps. Providing a flexible, robust and simple vacuum pump solution, across a wide spectrum of applications, SCROLLVAC plus demonstrates what is possible from a dry scroll pump. The pumping principle A Scroll pump consists of two engaged spiral forms. One scroll form is mounted eccentrically to the other and is made to move in an orbiting path relative to the fixed scroll. This creates crescent shaped volumes that are driven from the outside to the inside of the forms thereby pumping the gas. Easy to understand and uncomplicated … Economize by switching to the latest technology … Reliable products and application expertise … THE LEYBOLD GUARANTEE EVERY TIME!

Leybold TURBOVAC i/iX
A modular line of turbomolecular vacuum pumps with pumping speeds from 90 to 1450 l/s. TURBOVAC i / iX has hybrid rotor bearings: the bearing on the fore vacuum side is a ceramic ball bearing lubricated for life and the bearing on the high vacuum side is implemented by way of a non-wearing magnetic bearing. TURBOVAC i/iX turbomolecular pumps have unique pump stages designed to deliver reliable and consistent performance across a range of processes and demanding applications with increased gas flows. TURBOVAC i/iX series have been designed to optimize both pumping speed performance and compression ratio. Its wide range of performance varies from 90 to 1450 l/s and includes light gas pumping speed.

Leybold UNIVEX space simulation
We get your mission off the ground Space missions, scientific or commercial satellites, space research projects such as the ESA Rosetta Mission or the NASA Rover expedition to Mars all have one thing in common – they can only succeed if all the materials, components and assemblies to be used have been successfully tested in high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum conditions. One example is the simulation of the re-entry of space shuttles into the Earth's atmosphere and also the simulation and testing of engines. The experimental chamber systems required for this purpose to simulate space conditions in a vacuum are available in all sizes – from a few liters for testing small objects such as printed circuit boards to several thousand cubic meters for the verification of entire spaceships for space travel. We can supply turnkey system solutions with integrated fore vacuum and high vacuum pumps for this purpose. Specifically tailored to meet your individual needs for your flight test.

Leybold vacuum measurement and control solutions
With a wide range of vacuum systems and processes comes a need to measure the vacuum performance. The instruments used for measuring the pressure within this wide range are called vacuum gauges and measure from above atmospheric pressure (~ 2000 mbar (1500 Torr)) down to 10-12 mbar/torr. No single sensor technology is capable of measuring across this range. Therefore, a variety of different vacuum gauges are available, each with their own characteristics and ability to measure over multiple decades of vacuum. In order to widen the measurement range, it is now common to combine multiple technologies into a single gauge to reduce the connections needed in a system. A main way to differentiate vacuum gauge types is by how they measure the gas: direct or indirect pressure measurements. In the case of direct (or gas independent) pressure measurements, the readings obtained through the vacuum gauge are independent of the type of gas and the pressure given is always the true pressure of the system. Often relying on a mechanical deflection of a membrane, these are capable of measuring from above atmospheric pressure down to 10-4 mbar/torr. These gauge types will give you high accuracy over a short range and are typically very robust. In the case of indirect pressure measurements, the pressure is determined as a function of a pressure dependent property of the gas (thermal conductivity, ionization probability, for example). These properties do not only depend on the pressure, but also on the molar mass of the gases. Therefore, these are also known as gas dependent. The readings usually relate to air or nitrogen as the measurement gas. For the measurement of other vapors or gases the corresponding correction factors must be applied for the true pressure of the system. These gauges are capable of pressure measurement over a much wider range (atmospheric pressure to 10 x 10-12 mbar dependent on type/combination), with the tradeoff being a lower level of accuracy.
