      In electronics, signal conditioning means manipulating an analogue signal in such a way that it meets the requirements of the next stage for further processing. Most common use is in analogue-to-digital converters. A full range of signal conditioning option which includes amplifiers for all the sensor types, panel meters with integral sensor power supplies, and wireless products. All can be configured to provide a total system from sensor to the final signal required. Signal conditioning can be used to directly power the sensors and receive an input signal such as accelerometers, strain gages, temperature sensors with cold-junction compensation, however be sure to note the sampling rate required. Generally the signal conditioner provides a small voltage up to approximately 10 volts. Signal conditioning can be used as part of a data acquisition system to provide monitoring and control.

In addition, silver is the most malleable metal after gold. Its outstanding anti-fretting properties makes it the perfect coating for high stress application such as slide bearings in the aerospace industry. South West Metal Finishing offers two types of Silver Plating which are specialised on the different properties of silver. Both types can be plated on various materials such as steel, stainless steel, copper brass and even aluminium.

      Silverstone Park Schools Programme

      71% of Yr8 and Yr9 students would now consider working for a tech or engineering-based company after hearing from the Silverstone Park Schools Programme in 2023-24. A further 75% would be interested in working for a company at Silverstone Park. The programme successfully brings employers from the park together with students to advise them about career types and pathways through a series of inspiring workshops and tours of their companies on site. Launched in 2018 in response to local employers' concerns about the skills gap, c.5,000 young people have now been reached. Plans are already afoot for the 2024-25 academic year.
