ELECTRON BEAM PROCESSES LIMITED
About us
EBP Ltd provide a specialist welding service, our offering specialises in Electron Beam and Tungsten Inert Gas welding.
To compliment our welding processes, we have our own in-house Non- Destructive Testing capability offering X-Ray Inspection , Fluorescent Dye Penetrant Inspection, Helium Leak Testing and Pressurised Air in Water leak detection. Any one or multiples of these methods of NDT can be specified as a means to quantify the integrity of any welded assembly.
One of the hot topics in Advanced Engineering is the ability to 3D print complex metal components, but what happens when the working foot print of your 3D printing machine is not large enough to accommodate your creative designs or you have a ground breaking design which cannot be achieved by conventional machining or 3D printing.
Maybe a suitable solution is staring you right in the face; why not investigate whether it is possible to join (EB weld) two or three separate 3D printed components together?
Now maybe the time to engage with or at least touch base with a company who have prior knowledge of just that.
EBP Ltd will have a small display of some examples of EB welding of additive manufactured Copper Chromium Zirconium, Inco 718 and Titanium.
It will definitely be a worthwhile and informative visit to come and see what can be achieved by combining a specialised welding process with 3D metal additive manufacturing.
In addition to EBP's expertise in welding, we would also like to point out that we have a CNC machining capability. Recent investments have added 5 axis machining and Mill / Turn technology into our machine shop. Thus, if you combine our welding and NDT capabilities with our specialist machining service, which is focused around the machining of high temperature alloys such as Titanium, Inconel, Hastalloy, Haynes, C263, Stainless Steels and Duplex / Super Duplex, there's no better place to start your sourcing requirements for complex machined, welded, NDT'd and heat treated assemblies.

EB welded Inconel 718 Pin Assy.

Cross-sectional view of the EB weld applied to produce the 2 piece Inconel 718 Pin Assy.

Heat treated and finished machined Inconel 718 Pin Assy - with a shaft length of 450mm long and a Pin head diameter measuring 100mm.
This is an a good example of a cost reduction item where two pieces of inconel 718 have been electron beam welded together to produce a one piece component with parent material characteristics. Try and visualise the level of swarf that would have been produced if the part had been machined from a single billet of material measuring 125mm in diameter x 465mm long.
