IVA Schmetz GmbH is specialized in the production of atmosphere and vacuum furnaces for the heat treatment industry. For almost 80 years, our enthusiasm for industrial furnace systems, coupled with exceptional service, has been based in Menden, Germany.

Vertical high temperature vacuum furnace
Vertical vacuum furnace with round heating chamber for high temperature processes such as hardening, brazing, sintering, etc. Version with heating chamber insulation made of graphite Version with heating chamber insulation made of molybdenum + stainless steel The vertical vacuum furnace design as a lift car furnace is often used for large, rotationally symmetrical components such as engine parts or larger dies, alternatively the vertical vacuum furnace is also available as a pit type furnace.

SYSTEM CARB PLUS - Low Pressure Carburizing
Carburizing is a thermochemical heat treatment process for hardening steel components in which the surface hardness is increased by the addition of carbon. The aim here is to increase wear resistance in order to achieve a longer component service life. Low-pressure carburizing in the vacuum furnace with the CARB PLUS system is carried out using acetylene. This case hardening process is carried out at low pressures and temperatures in the range of up to 1070°C. Benefit from the man advantages of low-pressure carburizing compared to conventional carburizing processes!

Retort Type Furnaces
Retort type furnaces can be used in a variety of ways. Be it for tempering and annealing of tools previously processed in vacuum hardening furnaces, as well as for a number of other heat treatment processes. The latter include in particular the processes of gas nitriding, nitrocarburizing in conjunction with corrosion-protective post-treatment (oxidizing). Our retort furnaces are available in a wide variety of designs. You can choose between electric heated or gas heated versions.
