The company will be located in Hall 3 on Stand M200, within the GTMA pavilion, of which it is a proud long-standing member. Press Tool Design and Manufacture
ND Precision Products are press tool manufacturers of all types of custom press tools, from single stage operation press tooling to multi stage progression press tool. Our experienced team of press toolmakers provide a competitively priced toolmaking service with high priority turn around times if required. We can manufacture tools up to 2 tonnes in weight.
Laser Welding
ND Precision Products offer laser welding services for the modification and repair of damaged or worn tooling. Our Alpha Laser ALFLAK 300's open unit means that we are not restricted with the size job to laser weld, allowing us to better meet the needs of our customers. Stock of various metal welding rods are held in sizes from 0.2mm to 0.6mm diameter, however, we can also make our own rods out of your certified material if required. The high quality weld and stable process ensures that the repair or modification does not affect the properties of the tooling material.
Jigs and Fixtures
Our tool-making and jig and fixture experience is built up from many years of manufacture for customers across the UK, together with our attention to detail, means that you can rely on us for high quality precision equipment and help with prototype development to fit your needs. We design and build jigs and fixtures to help with the machining, production or measurement of our customers products including 6 point location fixtures for accuracy and repeatability. Our customers like us because our skilled team have a genuine interest and take pride in their high quality precision work. We quote and win orders because we’re good at difficult and detailed assemblies, and our customers trust our ability to deliver on time and on budget.
Spark Erosion (CNC EDM)
At ND Precision Products, we continually invest in the latest EDM technology to ensure exceptional precision and surface quality in every tool we produce. Our most recent addition in this department, the Sodi-Tech AD55L, represents the latest in high performance spark erosion capability. Supporting this, we also operate a GF Machining Solutions FORM 20 and a Charmilles E110 machine, allowing us to handle a wide range of tooling requirements efficiently and accurately. Using spark erosion, we can achieve a surface finish down to 0 VDI, producing an exceptionally smooth and precise result that is often impossible to achieve through conventional milling. This process enables the creation of complex shapes, fine details, and intricate forms, all while maintaining the dimensional accuracy and high standards ND Precision Products is known for.
EDM Hole Drilling
NDPP have a GF Machining Solutions Drill20 for EDM Hole Drilling, which is a fast and cost effective way of drilling holes. We hold stock of tubes sized from 0.2mm up to 3mm.
Wire EDM
We can achieve a Ra 0.2 surface finish with an accuracy of ± 2 microns. NDPP hold stock of wire sized between 0.1mm and 0.25mm. Our working table size is 600mm x 400mm x 350mm Maximum workpiece weight is 1000kg We are spline gauge specialists and can achieve a ± 0.0025 tolerance between pins.
Electrode Design and Manufacture
Using our Sodick UH650L, we design and manufacture electrodes with exceptional accuracy and surface finish, ensuring reliable, repeatable results in every EDM process. We manufacture electrodes in copper, tailored precisely to your design requirements. Each electrode can be supplied on System 3R, Euro, or bespoke collets, depending on your preferences at quotation. To support efficient setup and use, setting sheets can also be provided, detailing undersize and positional movements to ensure optimum accuracy and performance during EDM operations. Electrodes remain essential for many mould making applications, particularly in components featuring narrow ribs, deep cavities, and sharp internal corners, where conventional machining cannot achieve the required detail.
3D Laser Scanning
3D Laser scanning is something that NDPP have considered for a while. We knew that it was time to expand the list of services to offer this service.. As a result, NDPP purchased a FARO Quantum S 2.5m 7 axis fitted with a FAROBlu HD Laser Line Probe and 8-Axis turntable. This service is useful for creating a mesh .stl file which can be reverse engineered to create a solid 3D .step file. 3D laser scanning is also useful for comparing worn/damaged tooling against the 3D model. For reference, our FARO arm can scan to an accuracy of 46 μm over 2.5m. Nevertheless, when we have conducted tests with a 100mm slip gauge, we received results of sub 10 μm.

At NDPP we specialise in precision machining components and tools to customer specification. We offer CNC milling, CNC turning, grinding, wire & spark EDM machining for top quality precision machined parts. We take your product ideas from prototype, right through to production, packaging & on time delivery. ND Precision Products work across a wide range of materials, from aluminium and stainless steel to titanium and plastics. Full support is given, including design and input in to cost effective precision machining. We also have experience in manufacturing OEM replacement parts.
