Plasmatreat UK Ltd
About us
Plasmatreat is the global leader in developing and manufacturing atmospheric pressure plasma systems for surface pretreatment. Whether it's plastic, metal, glass, or paper, plasma technology modifies surface properties to meet specific process requirements. These pretreatments enhance subsequent processes such as bonding, painting, printing, and gasketing.
Openair-Plasma® technology is integrated into automated, continuous manufacturing processes across nearly every industrial sector. Applications span the automotive, electronics, transportation, packaging, consumer goods, and textile industries. Additionally, its technological, cost, and environmental benefits make it valuable in medical technology and renewable energy sectors.
The Plasmatreat Group operates technology centers in Germany, the USA, Canada, China, and Japan. With a global sales and service network, the company is active in over 30 countries through subsidiaries and sales partners.

Customized Surface Treatments using Atmospheric Plasma and Low-Pressure Plasma
Plasma pretreatment is the key enabler technology for microfine cleaning, surface activation and plasma coating of nearly all kinds of materials – from plastics, metals and glass to cardboard, textiles and composites. More and more conventional industrial pretreatment methods are being replaced by plasma technology in order to make processes more effective and environmentally friendly. Innovation is pivotal to what we do. Every day we work on developing new and creative solutions to meet our customers’ challenges. Plasmatreat offers a broad spectrum of plasma systems and equipment for atmospheric plasma processes (Openair-Plasma®) and for low-pressure plasma technology (Aurora). With our own technology centers and sales teams at 34 different locations around the world, the Plasmatreat group has a global presence. Backed by 20 years of experience, we can say with conviction that the future belongs to Plasma. The potential for application of plasma technology is virtually inexhaustible

Selective corrosion protection for metals
AntiCorr® is an anticorrosion coating which is applied to various metals in the atmospheric pressure plasma .The coating is part of a range of coatings that can be incorporated into the PlasmaPlus® system.

Bonding plastics with Openair-Plasma®
From structural bonding in the automotive and aerospace industry to high-tech adhesive bonding in the electronics industry and even simple wet labelling: Openair-Plasma® pretreats the bond surface with precision, creating an even and process-reliable base for industrial adhesive bonds while at the same time ensuring sustainable process design. The use of cleaners and solvents containing VOCs is eliminated, as is the frequently necessary cleaning and drying of component

Surface treatment - rotational Openair plasma jet
Plasmatreat is a world leader in the development and manufacture of Openair-Plasma and PlasmaPlus systems for the surface treatment of a wide range of materials. The technology has a wide range of applications and not only improves the surface properties of materials such as plastics or metals, but also contributes to increased efficiency and sustainability in manufacturing processes. Surface pretreatment includes the processes of cleaning, activation and coating.

Semiconductor Production
Vacuum plasma has been used for many applications in the semiconductor industry. In the Openair-Plasma® process, a “reactive plasma zone” integrated into the plasma unit makes it possible to carry out continuous pretreatment during the ongoing production process. The potential-free Openair-Plasma® microfine cleaning system is ideal for the production of highly sensitive electrical components, replacing the vacuum chamber in the production of chip packaging in a much more efficient and cost-effective way.

Inline Oxide Reduction with Openair-Plasma®
Inline oxide reduction with Openair-Plasma® The innovative REDOX®-Tool is ideally suited for the treatment of printed circuit boards, power modules and substrates with tin or nickel solder balls. The tunnel concept enables for the first time: • flux-free bonding • cleaning and reduction of metal oxides • inline contact improvement in a variety of applications such as: Pre-sintering, Die-Bonding, Wire bonding and flux-free thermocompression bonding
