Brandauer Metal Stamping
Brandauer is splitting microns at its facility in Birmingham and to put that into perspective, a single hair comprises 40 microns. It is this kind of precision that brings Brandauer’s capabilities in the design and manufacture of pressed metal components to the fore. Everything stamped by Brandauer fits in the palm of your hand and is often fundamental to the operation of products, devices and vehicles used all over the world, every single day. Brandauer is one of the largest contract presswork and metal stamping companies in Europe, offering the complete range of services required for the supply of precision stamped metal components: from prototyping, design and in-house tool production (or a specialist tool transfer service) through to high-quality manufacturing and logistics. Since Brandauer was founded in the 1800s, it has evolved into a world-class engineering company, specialising in the manufacture of high-speed precision metal components, in difficult materials, for a wide range of industry sectors. Tiny, unseen components but crucial in the role that they play. They need to be exact in form and if there is one word which has always applied to Brandauer’s components it is precision. Brandauer tooling
Using its progression and precision press tools, Brandauer have been manufacturing precision metal components for customers around the world for decades. Brandauer is capable of working with the widest range of metals and continue to invest in the best technology to manage the in-house design and manufacture of progression press tooling. Design & manufacture of press tooling - Brandauer’s dedicated Wire EDM cell houses multiple Agie Charmilles wire EDM machines, fully integrated with CAD/CAM software. The rarity of these machines in the UK showcase the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and investment in new and innovative technology. They are crucial in the manufacture of Brandauer’s three unique tooling standards (Standard Fixed, Precision and Modular tooling). The design of any Brandauer progression press tooling benefits from bespoke CAD software, including Visi Vero 3D which uses intelligent 3D Toolpaths with High Speed Milling routines. This use of the latest technology coupled with the experience and know-how of expert tool designers and makers combine to improve productivity, reduce machine cycle times and ensure the most challenging and complex parts are produced at the highest quality standards. The design and manufacture of progression and precision tools are part of a promise to deliver a complete manufacturing solution for the production of pressed metal components. Brandauer’s three unique tooling standards are outlined below and are used dependent on customer requirements and component complexity. Brandauer pride itself on the quality and longevity of its bespoke tooling standards, with the capability to run tools in presses from anything between 10 to 1,200 strokes per minute, consistently for some 15-20 years. Furthermore, Brandauer also offer an established and successful tooling transfer faculty which is outlined below.

Combining laser cutting, precision metal forming and decades of stamping expertise, we can turn a 2D drawing into a 3D component in as little as 48 hours. When standard materials are used, quotes can be returned within 24 hours, making it possible to go from concept to component in record time – ideal for live trials, fast decisions and accelerated product development. Brandauer's project collaboration

Brandauer’s CAD designers are integrated into the tool room to make communication between the departments efficient and reactive. Using CAD for complex designs and visualisation of complicated surfaces and assembly of progression tooling is a vital consideration for any metal stamping business. Brandauer’s CAD studio is kitted out with the most up-to-date software and systems which are vital when dealing with the kind of precision and accuracy required for any given component or tooling specification. Brandauer’s CAD engineers apply their expertise to every project and apply attention to detail every step of the way.
