The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining is a British engineering institution with activities including promotion of the development of materials science. It has been a registered charity governed by a royal charter and a member of the United Kingdom's Science Council, since 2002.

IOM3 Training Academy offers a range of industry-recognised technical courses and qualifications designed to support the career development of those working at all levels within the packaging industry. Many of our courses are accredited by PIABC and lead to nationally recognised qualifications and we work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that our courses are appropriate, accessible and achievable. Our Packaging Courses cover a wide range of topics and are suitable for those just starting out in the industry or simply wanting to expand their knowledge to those wishing to undertake learning in specific areas of packaging technology. Many of our courses are available in the classroom, in your workplace or online and our tutors, who are experts from all packaging sectors, along with us, will support you throughout your learning journey. Join IOM3 : membership
IOM3 provides professional grades of membership, and through us members can also gain Chartered Registration, but we also provide a range of membership options for people who don't have a formal materials/mining qualification and are working within the materials or related sectors. Schools membership is available for teachers and Industry Affiliate membership for companies.
