Ceramic composites for Motorsport applications
More than 20 years of expertise in ceramic composites solutions for high performance applications. Since the early 2000s, Pyromeral Systems has invested in research and development of ceramic composite materials. The materials developed by the company stand out for their lightweight nature and thermal resistance, which are essential for meeting the increasing demands of motorsport. Present in all over the world racing circuits, Pyromeral Systems have supported most of world champions in Formula 1, Le Mans and WRC. Our solutions are also present in Indycar, DTM and Super GT. Pyromeral Systems ceramic composites are highly resistant to flames and extreme temperatures. They can support 1300°C (2400°F). The thermal shields manufactured by Pyromeral Systems incorporate innovative materials that allow for better heat management, thus optimizing engine efficiency and compactness. Additionally, the thermal shields that encase the brakes serve as an effective barrier against high temperatures (typically between 800°C and 1000°C), preventing the risk of overheating. These innovations are not only crucial for vehicle performance but also contribute to the safety of drivers. Our materials constitute a great alternative to replace metals in hot spot areas in vehicles. Moreover, they represent a significant weight gains : 4 times lighter than steel or inconels and 2 times lighter than Titanium. Parts manufactured by Pyromeral Systems, made of Pyrokarb (density < 1.7 kg/dm³) or Pyrosic (density < 1.9 kg/dm3) materials. Reducing the weight of components has a direct impact on the overall performance of the vehicle. With final thicknesses of less than 1 mm, these materials enable the creation of lighter braking systems while maintaining robustness and uncompromised efficiency. Lightweight is, therefore, a key factor that contributes to improving the performance of race cars.

CFRP machining optimised with OptiMill-Composite-Speed-Plus
Improved workpiece clamping for large carbon-fibre parts enables the aerospace industry to machine more quickly. MAPAL supports this development with new tools. With its diamond coating and optimised geometry, the OptiMill-Composite-Speed-Plus guarantees process reliability. The aerospace industry is reluctant to change functioning processes that have already been audited due to the large effort involved. However, growing cost pressures are also forcing this sector to make its production as efficient as possible. Aircraft manufacturers have so far identified the clamping technology as an obstacle on the path to higher performance. Large carbon-fibre parts are usually fixed using vacuum clamping technology. The limited holding forces of the suction cups require relatively low cutting speeds in order to prevent rising vibration. This can lead to a loss of quality and deviations in shape and position tolerances. New clamping technologies now enable manufacturers to increase the cutting values. But with this came a new problem: under the changed process conditions, there was an increased risk of breakage due to the increased load on milling cutters that had previously worked perfectly. “Even very large manufacturers were affected by tool breakages after using the tools to their limits”, explains Tim Rohmer, Product Manager for solid carbide milling tools at MAPAL. The tool manufacturer saw a need to act and developed the OptiMill-Composite-Speed-Plus as a response to market demands. ----READ MORE ON THE WEBSITE LINK AT TOP OF PAGE----

Clean Energy for Engineering Companies
Solarsense provide a nationwide design, installation and maintenance service for solar PV and energy storage, as well as offering a range of finance options, including asset finance and a competitive power purchase agreement (PPA). We work with each individual client and specialise in providing solar PV and clean energy solutions tailored to the unique energy needs of manufacturing businesses. Installing solar PV systems and energy storage solutions offers manufacturing and engineering businesses a range of benefits, including cost savings, energy independence, environmental sustainability, and long-term financial stability. Manufacturers can leverage solar energy to reduce their operating costs, and position themselves as leaders in sustainable manufacturing. Increasingly weighty business overheads are making energy consumption a growing source of concern for many engineering companies, particularly with utility prices rising year on year. As a result forward thinking manufacturers are looking closely at both what they pay for their energy and how they use it. Generally speaking, the higher the user of energy – the higher the savings and therefore the larger the benefits sought – making the manufacturing and engineering sectors the perfect case for solar panels, battery storage and other renewable energy technologies such as solar carports. Solarsense has partnered with some of the UK’s leading financial institutions. From asset finance and hire purchase to a power purchase agreement (PPA), we will ensure you get the best advice available.

Sit for a moment and imagine the utopia. You arrive at work and open your inbox and a few relevant emails from genuine human beings appear. A couple contain opportunities, a couple are pretty functional, maybe there is the odd piece of constructive feedback. But what there isn’t, is a mountain of SPAM. Now that you are relaxed and feeling serene, take a second to imagine the dystopia. Your marketing funnel has dried up because all your leads have unsubscribed from the emails you send them. You are shouting into the void, blasting out email marketing messages to lists that are rapidly shrinking and you don’t know where the next sale is coming from. Both are legitimate futures, and both are places some people are going to find themselves in the years to come, thanks to Gmail’s new subscription management function, which provides a simple way for users to unsubscribe from anything they receive en masse.
