    3. Grey - AI for QC, automation, and process control

Grey - AI for QC, automation, and process control

Grey-1 is our next-gen AI brain for process control and closed-loop feedback. Capable of advanced error detection, manufacturing parameter prediction and optimisation capabilities within 24 hours of setup, Grey continues to learn from every part it makes. This aids manufacturing of high-quality goods while minimising energy use and environmental impacts. Grey also empowers the workforce, equipping it with the necessary skills to not only fill current skills gaps but to excel in a future where adaptive manufacturing and sustainable practices are widespread. A fundamental challenge with AI systems is that they typically require extensive examples of the things they are supposed to do before they perform effectively. This can be challenging in manufacturing where data can be difficult or resource-intensive to gather and store. For instance, some defects might be critical but not occur often. Or it might require highly-skilled engineers to annotate images with the things an AI system needs to learn, which is unfeasible given the amount of examples an AI system will typically need to see. Grey’s core and patent-pending technology is capable of automatic data labelling, minimising the need for laborious and slow data annotation or replication of rare failure modes to train models. Grey can also learn the causes of defects, rather than simply identifying correlations. This allows it to build a better understanding of the underlying physical processes, reducing the amount of data needed for the system to work and making it robust to changes in the environment, process inputs or product mix.

    4. GRP Parts and Moulds

      GRP Parts and Moulds

Our manufacturing capabilities include a range of proven GRP processes: Hand Lay-Up, ideal for bespoke or low-volume parts, offers exceptional control over fibre placement and laminate build. Spray Lay-Up (Chop) provides a fast and efficient method for producing durable components with complex geometries. Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) enables the creation of high-quality, repeatable parts with excellent surface finishes on both sides—perfect for medium to high-volume production. Vacuum Infusion ensures superior fibre-to-resin ratios and structural integrity, making it ideal for lightweight, high-performance applications.

    6. Handle Bushes for flexible working

      Handle Bushes for flexible working

Handle drill bushes from BONEHAM are designed to access hard to reach areas in a jig, where a hole cutting operation is required, but a fixed permanent solution isn't feasible. Handle bushes are also ideal for applications where multi sized drilling is required, for example pilots and reaming. Bushes can be interchanged with the same OD. Handles are kept in stock and part marked to requirement. The handles are manufactured from lightweight aluminium. Part of the BONEHAM aerospace range.

    7. HandySCAN 3D|MAX

      HandySCAN 3D|MAX

Until recently, there was no affordable way to accurately measure large parts on the shop floor. Methods that had the required precision could only assess specific points, not full surfaces. Those that could scan 3D surfaces accurately were too expensive, while affordable long-range surface measurements didn’t offer enough accuracy. On top of that, reflective surfaces posed a hazard to optical technology. The CREAFORM HandySCAN 3D|MAX Series has changed this. It contains all the features that made the HandySCAN 3D line-up popular in the industry – portability, speed, accuracy, and simplicity; plus, it has an extra-large measuring volume. It uses blue laser technology, integrated photogrammetry, and live meshing, and is able to work in harsh environments to deliver high accuracy with volumetric optimisation. Plus, its ISO 17025 accreditation and compliance with the VDI/VDE 2634 Part 3 standard allows for metrology-grade quality control results with tight tolerancing.

    9. Hard Chrome Plating

      Hard Chrome Plating

The extreme hardness of Hard Chrome Plating (over 1000 HV) is produced by the structure of the deposit. Furthermore the deposit has a very low coefficient of friction. These two properties together with the ability to apply very high thicknesses make Chrome Plating the perfect coating for wear resistance. (A general thickness of 0.13mm (0.005”) is ample for most plating applications, but higher thicknesses of over 1mm is also possible) It can be applied to stainless steels, cast irons, copper alloys, bronzes and nickel alloys. An excellent adhesion can be achieved on a variety of surfaces whether ground, finely turned or high polished. Hard Chrome Plating is widely used in the aerospace industry as well as hydraulic industry, machine construction. Chrome plating applied for a technical purpose with a very low thickness is called FLASH CHROME PLATING
