VMS26-UC is our premium grade silicone from Alan Harper Composites. The material is a 2-part addition cure elastomer system which is an ultra clear silicone in appearance, giving far better visibility for liquid infusions. After mixing parts ‘A’ and ‘B’ in the correct proportions, the system will cure at ambient temperatures within 24 hours, but the rate of cure can be accelerated by heat. The cured rubber exhibits excellent physical and structural properties for Reusable Vacuum Membranes. The premium grade silicone product has a 26 Shore A Hardness and is available in 40kg Kits.

Pressure sensing elements are sometimes referred to as oil filled capsules, piezoresistive pressure capsules or pressure transducer capsules. The sensing element consists of a convolute diaphragm and a small amount of oil to transfer the pressure applied on the diaphragm to the piezo resistive sensing element. The oil can be silicone, or food grade depending on liquid or gas to be measured. Due to their compact size, the pressure sensing elements can be embedded into meters or measuring instruments. There are several output options including mV, amplified or digital I2C or SPI. The digital output pressure sensing elements can have a dual output of temperature and pressure and low power options are available for battery powered applications.
