      Electrode Design and Manufacture

Using our Sodick UH650L, we design and manufacture electrodes with exceptional accuracy and surface finish, ensuring reliable, repeatable results in every EDM process. We manufacture electrodes in copper, tailored precisely to your design requirements. Each electrode can be supplied on System 3R, Euro, or bespoke collets, depending on your preferences at quotation. To support efficient setup and use, setting sheets can also be provided, detailing undersize and positional movements to ensure optimum accuracy and performance during EDM operations. Electrodes remain essential for many mould making applications, particularly in components featuring narrow ribs, deep cavities, and sharp internal corners, where conventional machining cannot achieve the required detail.

    2. Electroless Nickel Plating

      Electroless Nickel Plating

Electroless nickel plating is an auto-catalytic reaction, unlike electroplating, it is not necessary to pass an electric current through the solution to form a deposit. Full Coverage Free from the need of the current to reach the area to be plated, nickel can be coated everywhere the solution touches the part. This means that it can plate the inside of tubes or holes which has design advantages over other electroplating processes. Since it isn’t effected by high or low current density areas it plates an entirely even deposit over the whole part. Wear Resistant The electroless nickel coating is a nickel-phosphorous alloy, which is extremely hard – over 800 HV with post heat treatment, and therefore used for wear resistance. Depending on the requirements, there are different phosphorous contents available.

    5. Embedded Sensors for High-Performance Composites in Aviation, Space, and Defence

Embedded Sensors for High-Performance Composites in Aviation, Space, and Defence

At RVmagnetics, we recognize the imperative of dual-use innovation—technology that seamlessly spans both civilian and military applications. Our magnetic MicroWire sensors, proven in aviation, automotive, and industrial manufacturing sectors, are now being tailored to meet the robust and mission-critical demands of the defence world. By transferring our success from civilian aviation and industrial use into Defence & Space, we’re bridging the gap between concept and combat-readiness. This includes ensuring that defence-grade composites with embedded sensing not only survive but excel in the harshest conditions—from nuclear zones and hypersonic flight to the crushing depths of underwater vessels. Our vision? To deliver critical capabilities to NATO-aligned Ministries of Defence (MoDs), prime contractors, and subcontractors, supporting them to build lighter, stronger, smarter, and safer platforms—across air, land, sea, and space.

    7. EnviroRinse™ Range

      EnviroRinse™ Range

EnviroRinse™ 201 is a water-based, low foaming rinse aid offering corrosion resisting properties on assembly parts for up to 2 years. The purpose of this data report is to evaluate EnviroRinseTM201 (ER201) performance in an aqueous parts washer. The results and associated observations are detailed to show the effectiveness of the product. It was found that ER201 was stable over the 4-week period with minimal foaming and no alarms relating to the rinse tank occurred on the machine. The data followed a trend, the conductivity of the solutions increased throughout the trial however this was down to the top up of water into the tank. The dosage pump was set up to inject 20ml of ER201 every rinse cycle into the rinse tank, this maintained the concentration with no manual additions needed throughout the 4-week period. In no circumstance did any personnel need to intervene with the rinse tank and this ran fully automated by the machine. A full inspection regime was carried out on the parts that had been processed through the ER201 with positive feedback of the appearance of the components from a Hydraulics assembly manufacturer’s personnel. Lake Engineering Solutions provided a full SOP and training upon implementation of ER201 on the machine. This promoted a good practice for handling parts, and monitoring the solution now is minimal as it will be done in an automated process with the machine’s water top up and dosage pump. Full data has been given to underpin the effectiveness of the automated dosage system and Lab data to support EnviroRinse ™ using industry ASTM Standards (ASTM D4627-92: Iron Chip Corrosion for Water-Dilutable Metalworking Fluids and ASTM D1748-10: Rust Protection by Metal Preservatives in the Humidity Cabinet).
