Press Release

Easyfairs, the world’s largest privately owned exhibition organiser, today
announced the acquisition of European Trade & Exhibition Services, organiser of Southern Manufacturing & Electronics, bolstering its already extensive engineering and manufacturing portfolio that incorporates Advanced Engineering as well as many other brands across Europe

The UK’s largest annual gathering of engineering and manufacturing professionals, Advanced Engineering, opened its doors once again on November 1 and 2, 2023 at the NEC, Birmingham. Across the two days, 8,943 attendees witnessed the latest innovations that the UK has to offer at Advanced Engineering, making it an extremely busy and energetic event.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s Autumn Statement for 2023 was revealed yesterday, bringing a wave of positive news. Among the highlights are the largest tax cut since the 1980s, £45 billion in funding for the British manufacturing sector, and an Investment Zones program targeting industries deemed crucial for the future. The economic challenges that have persisted for some time are now met with a vital boost, particularly benefiting the manufacturing sector, promising long-term stability.

The government has today announced £4.5 billion in funding for British manufacturing to increase investment in eight sectors across the UK. The funding will be available from 2025 for five years, providing industry with longer term certainty about their investments.

“A few days ago, I visited the Advanced Engineering show at the NEC in Birmingham, and it provided a reminder that we do indeed still make things in the UK, and that engineers and manufacturers remain highly inventive and innovative, as they must be to compete in the world” David Smith

The UK manufacturing community, ConeX Portal, has given more than 10 members the chance to attend Advanced Engineering 2023 as a collaborative stand and be an integral part of a project to raise the profile of manufacturing SMEs across the UK.

For the first time, attendees at Advanced Engineering 2023 will receive accreditation from The CPD Group. The CPD Group, based in the United Kingdom, is recognised as one of the fastest growing continuous professional development (CPD) accreditation services worldwide. Advanced Engineering is taking place at the NEC, Birmingham on November 1 and 2 and will host over 150 industry-leading speakers across its forums, all of which can be accessed with a visitor pass.

The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) will host the final of its building competition in Advanced Engineering, which takes place on November 1 and 2, 2023 at the NEC, Birmingham. The contest aims to provide a practical composite engineering challenge through Young Engineers and Students (YES), where the entrants will be challenged to create a suitable structure and display it at the show.

Advanced Engineering, the UK’s largest annual gathering of engineering and manufacturing professionals, is taking significant steps to make this year’s show more sustainable, which is taking place between November 1 to 2 at the NEC, Birmingham.

The Fluency Business Group (Fluency) and Easyfairs are delighted to announce the signing of an agreement to incorporate its Advanced Materials Events into Easyfairs’ well-respected Advanced Engineering Show which occurs annually at the NEC in Birmingham. The next edition, featuring the Advanced Materials Events, will take place on 1st and 2nd of November 2023.

Visitor registration is now open for Advanced Engineering, the UK’s largest annual gathering of engineering and manufacturing professionals. Now in its 14th year, this year’s show comes with a fresh and future-focused rebrand, removing the previous show zones from its exhibition floor and introducing a main stage for the event’s well-attended forums.

The new partnership aims to help the new Engineers Insight app scale across the UK and Ireland, providing engineers in all regions with easy access to the world’s largest industrial manufacturing companies in one convenient location via a digital platform.
